Confidential standard HIV and STI testing (syphilis, chlamydia, & gonorrhea) and Mpox vaccines will be available from 2 pm until 7 pm. No MSP or address is needed for this free testing.

His dedication, talent and ambition has landed Dashaun on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, in international commercials for Coca Cola and inspired the creation of the Hip Hop dance “The 5000” making him an internet and media sensation, garnering millions of hits on Youtube.
Dashaun currently travels the world touring with his dance company & hosting international dance competitions in Helsinki, Finland, Stockholm, Sweden, St. Petersburg, Russia & Hong Kong, China.

Over recent years, “archiving” has become a trendy conversation. But what is archival? Why is it important? And why is it essential for us to collect and curate our own archives? WE ARE THE ARCHIVE is an interactive experience using film and other media to share ballroom history and shed light on how we are our own Essential Storytellers!

Class will begin with a brief history of Old Way, then we’ll get into a full breakdown of the many styles - Pop Dip and Spin, Excalibur/Attack, Bangy Vogue, The Oldway Classic.
Then we’ll rehearse the basics - Creating your signature breakdown, Rehearsing the 5 elements
Finale- Class performs their 10’s (a collective breakdown of everything learned from the workshop)
Bio -Icon Daebrian Balenciaga is a revered figure in the mainstream ballroom scene, celebrated for excellence in the Old Way category. He joined the House of Balenciaga in 2004 in Atlanta, GA, originally walking Butch Queen Schoolboy Realness. After training under Jamal Milan and Dawan Milan (Ex Aga's), he transitioned into Old Way.
Under Jamal Milan’s mentorship, Daebrian developed into a dominant force, earning over 17 “Of the Year” awards from state to state and winning countless battles against the top legends of his time. Once referred to as the "Prince of The Oldway" his performances have inspired a new generation of Old Way walkers. Daebrian is also credited for teaching legendary Brian Aga-Mugler amongst others.
Now West Coast Father of the House of Balenciaga and recently deemed an Icon, Daebrian leads a rising group of stars, statements and legends, dedicated to teaching the importance of history, legacy, and craft within ballroom and the house of Champions.

About the workshop:
Learn about the original style of vogue, the oldway also known as pop dip and spin, with Canadian kiki Legend Ali Old Navy. Combining Egyptian hieroglyphs, martial arts, breakdance, popping, and fashion poses, the oldway is about style, grace, attitude, and self expression. This open level class will allow attendees to learn the fundamentals of oldway practice their skills.
About Ali:
Ali is part of the Premier House of Donyale Luna in the mainstream scene where he walks transman face and oldway, whereas in the kiki scene, he is known as Legendary Canada Father Old Navy. He is also the co-founder of Ballroom 4 Community, and part of the Montreal Kiki Ballroom Alliance.

Join us on March 31st, for an extravagant night of ballroom history in celebration of Trans Day of Visibility! To start the night off, we have Frank Simon’s 1968 trailblazing documentary, The Queen, followed by a very special exhibition ballpresented by Van Vogue Jam. We’ll be ending the night with Jennie Livingston’s, Paris is Burning, making it the essential ballroom double bill.
